Rockefeller Recruits $2 Billion Merrill Team in Ohio

Rockefeller Capital Management has recruited a 14-person team in Ohio to Rockefeller Global Family Office, the firm’s wealth management division. Jones Wealth Partners joins Rockefeller after more than four decades with Merrill Lynch, where they managed about $2 billion in assets under management, according to Forbes.

The move allows Rockefeller to expand its Ohio footprint, opening a new office in Columbus. Rockefeller has existing offices in Cincinnati and Cleveland.

“Ohio continues to be a growth opportunity for our firm, and we look forward to partnering with this highly-regarded team to bring Rockefeller’s sophisticated solutions and holistic advice to their clients,” said Brett Thelander, northern regional president of Rockefeller Global Family Office.

The team is led by Sidney Jones, private advisor and managing director, who started his career at Merrill Lynch 43 years ago. His sons, Quinn and Liam Jones, are also joining Rockefeller as private advisors and senior vice presidents.

The team will maintain a presence in Columbus and Canfield, Ohio.

Rockefeller Capital Management began as the family office of John D. Rockefeller in 1882 and was restructured as an independent advisory firm in 2018. The company has since grown to include three distinct businesses—Rockefeller Global Family Office, Rockefeller Asset Management and Rockefeller Strategic Advisory. The firm has many locations across the U.S. and one in London, overseeing about $224 billion in client assets.
