Final: Consumer sentiment fell in August


The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index decreased 6.2% in August compared to the month prior, landing at 51.7, according to final results for the month. Sentiment was down 11.2% year over year. The current conditions index fell 5.3% from the month prior to 51.9. The index of consumer expectations declined 7% from the month prior to land at 51.5.
